The OSU Jazz Orchestra is the premier performing group of the OSU Jazz Studies program. Averaging 7-8 concerts per year, the OSU Jazz Orchestra regularly premiers arrangements and compositions specifically written for the group for its on and off campus concerts and/or CD recordings. The group's latest CD, Room 118 (2021), was awarded four stars by AllAboutJazz and has recieved radio play from Tulsa, to Chicago, to the Czech Republic.
The OSU Jazz Studies program offers a four-year Bachelor of Music Performance in Jazz Studies as well as a jazz minor. In addition to the countless performance and recording opportunities, OSU Jazz offers courses in Jazz Theory & Improvisation, Jazz Piano, Jazz Arranging & Composition, Jazz Applied Lessons, and Music Technology.
