The Kinder High School for the Performing and Visual Arts Jazz Program includes two big bands and two official small jazz ensembles, as well as classes in rhythm section performance, jazz fundamentals, and improvisation. The program has been a part of the Herbie Hancock National Performing Arts High Schools Jazz Program since 2008. Warren Sneed, a graduate of Kinder HSPVA, has served as Director of the Jazz Studies Program since Fall, 2000. The 2021-2022 school year marks Kinder HSPVA’s 50th Anniversary.
