Started in 2008 by Director of Jazz Studies Dave Pietro, the NYU Wayne Shorter Ensemble has performed over 130 compositions by NYU alumni Wayne Shorter (1956), including his work with Art Blakey, Miles Davis, Weather Report and his solo albums on the VeeJay, Blue Note, Columbia and Verve labels.
